According to Military.com the US has struck more than 20 Taliban Targets over the weekend after Taliban leaders refused to extend a unilateral cease-fire established earlier this month. While a cease-fire and the hopes of a peace deal appear to be a desirable outcome, the report states that “If we were to wait for a peace deal and a cease-fire based on it, we would wait indefinitely to stop the bloodshed,” and “The cease-fire broke the deadlock and caused mobility.” So it was considered a successful “experiment”.
